Here’s one to watch: The “CHINA HOUSE VISION” seminar held on 23 January 2016 was the first cross-industrial research and innovation project in China that occurred under the theme of “accommodation and community in the future”. Sixteen leading architects, researchers, business and media representatives shared their most recent developments of cross-industrial innovation. Chief curator of HOUSE VISION, Mr. Kenya Hara, hosted the seminar.
“CHINA HOUSE VISION” is deeply rooted in the traditional Chinese idea of “home” as the foundation of culture, and a focal point of industrial development. It encourages discussion and investigation into many local issues in Chinese society, in particular those of urban planning, the burden of a growing population, lack of natural resources, and many environmental issues. We are in a time of change, and our lifestyles have been changing alongside society. “CHINA HOUSE VISION” aims to visualise the prospects of different industries, and present them to the general public.
The seminar discussed many projects about “living in China in 2020”, all of which will be included in a book to be published later this year. In addition, the “CHINA HOUSE VISION” project will be presented at the Venice Architecture Biennale this June, and a book conference will also be organised for Beijing Design Week.
