Personally, I prefer this former scruffy-street-look of Matisyahu, but I get it. We all need to evolve and let go of certain aspects we were once so attached to in ourselves. In an article last summer with Time Magazine he said, “I just felt it was time to let go of that look. Because my identity became wrapped up in that, and even though inside I was starting to shift my ideology a bit, I still had the same outward appearance. It was just time to let go and try something new.” Yes, I was busy last summer finding my own evolution, so I am a little late. What of it? I am always late to the party. Get use to it.
Sampling of his former music.
