In Beijing, I never had the chance to invest in furniture. Blame it on the transient nature of expat life – I knew I would have to eventually deal with the trouble of shipping anything I loved, so I just tried not to buy anything I loved too much. (Especially if it was expensive.)
But now I’m in San Francisco. With a brand-new apartment to furnish. And every cool furniture store at my fingertips.
To say I’m now obsessed with home décor would be an understatement. For a few months, I even stopped shopping for clothes altogether, spending all my free time poring over home decor mags and blogs, watching HGTV, and tracking sales on my new favorite websites (West Elm, Gilt Home, Amazon, CB2 and World Market replaced ShopBop, J Crew and Zara).
Equilibrium has since been restored, thankfully, but my fervor for interior design hasn’t waned. Above are a few of my favorite inspiration photos. Look forward to photos of my own apartment in a future post!
