Chictopia cropped sleeveless top (the skirt’s already sold out)
Ms Min round neck sleeveless top
Helen Lee Mickey Mouse applique flared mesh skirt
Well, it’s about time. Luxury department store Lane Crawford (China’s equivalent of Barneys or Saks) recently introduced a handful of China-based talent into its repertoire of designers.
I’m happy to announce that Chictopia, Ms Min and Helen Lee blend in seamlessly alongside brands like Givenchy and J.Crew, and are fairly affordable in comparison.
My favorite by far is Ms Lin, who graduated from London College of Fashion and previously worked for Viktor & Rolf. But Chictopia is perhaps the most famous of the three (in fact, as I’m writing this post, her designs are “flying off the shelves,” or the e-shop, in this case).
While there are a ton more local brands I would love to see stocked in the store, at least it’s a very promising start.
