Weiwei grew up in Hangzhou, China and traveled to Germany to study product design. She is highly sensitive to the emotional impact of forms and visions, while being strongly aware of the social influence of design. For the past year she has been conducting research on traditional Chinese craftsmanship, aiming to find a self-conscious language for the contemporary Chinese design industry.
